Ireland!

Family Vacation 2013!!!  This vacation was 1000 time better than St. Thomas.  We had a blast.  I think if we all agreed to give up our jobs together we would move there.

Connor did amazing on the flight (9 hours to London and 1.5 hours to Dublin).

First Day...what else but a little whiskey at Jameson!

Connor had coke and I had hot chocolate

 Walking around Dublin

The Second Day! We went to Kilmainham Gaol (the jail museum in dublin)

We split up in the afternoon and the Lyons' went to the Zoo because animals in Dublin are different :) The rest of the group went to Guinness brewery.

Wellington Monument, 2nd largest to the Washington Monument
The Third Day!
Mom stayed in Dublin and did some family research while the rest of us drove through the Wicklow Mountains to see the PowersCourt Waterfall.  There were midges (small flies or gnats) everywhere.  So disgusting!

Reminds us girls of twilight.  We were all looking for Edward but no luck. :)

The Forth Day!
Rock of Cashel

 Town of Cahir
 Cahir Castle

Mom, Dad, Will and Brittany went to Kilkenny and Becca, John, Connor and I stayed in Cahir, walked to the Swiss Cottage and went for a drive down to Lismore over the Vee through the mountains.

 The "goat"
 Lismore Castle
We stopped at an amazing park for Connor to play in Lismore.  We had dinner in Lismore and Connor had done amazing all day.  He was eating and slipped off the back of his seat into the rock wall behind us and busted his head open.  We thought we were going to have to go to the hospital.  Luckily he was ok with no signs of concussion.

 The Fifth Day!
Blarney Castle - John, Becca, Will and Brittany all kissed the Blarney Stone while
Mom, Dad, Connor and I toured the gardens.

We drove to Bantry that night.  Mom thinks her great great great grandpa (headstone below) lived here although she is still working on the confirmation.
The information is spotty due to the time period (potato famine).
The street, although changed from the 1800's, where she believes her family lived.

Even if we never find out for sure if our family was from here, I will always assume it.  It was a beautiful fishing village with nice people.

 The Sixth Day!
We went around the Ring of Kerry; however, the weather was really bad (no complaints as the rest of the trip was perfect).

 The Seventh Day!
Dingle Peninsula and the Bee Hive Huts.

 The Eighth Day!
Cliffs of Moore - Everyone went to view them except John and I since Connor was sleeping in the car. When we got out it started raining but they were still amazing!

The Last Day before returning to Dublin.
We stopped at this little rocky shore and walked around picking up shells and such.  It was windy and cold but fun!

We had lunch in Killaloe.  It was a beautiful little town.  We definitely want to go back because we were only there about an hour.

We got back to Dublin and went to a Celtic Dance/Dinner and we were on the plane the next morning at 6m.
An amazing trip came to and end!
